After the judgment of divorce, many cases are not over. Spouses fail to pay support, violate parenting schedules, hide assets required for distribution, or refuse to sign transfers. New York provides enforcement tools - contempt, income execution, modification, and allocation judgments - but you need counsel who will use them aggressively.
Support enforcement.
We pursue arrears through income withholding, bank restraints, and contempt when support orders are ignored. Modification is available when income legitimately changes - but non-payment without cause is punishable.
Custody and parenting violations.
Parenting time interference and unilateral moves violate court orders. We document violations and seek modification, makeup time, and sanctions when the other parent will not comply.
Property and QDRO enforcement.
When a spouse refuses to sign deeds or QDROs, we move to compel performance and hold them accountable for delay damages. The judgment is a contract - we enforce it.
